19 May Master Builder House of the Year – Nominations 2015 Mid South Canterbury
Sometimes you get a call for a job and you know it will be hard work, but just awesome.
I love architecture, I actually did some study to become a real estate agent in Cairns over 10 years ago and realised what I loved was the buildings and the way they where constructed, built and interior designed and not so much about selling the property. So I became a photographer 7 years later and here I am today.
Master Builders House of the Year is a huge deal in the building industry & it is a clever key component of the Registered Master Builder’s marketing strategy.
The success of being awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze and then potentially Category and Supreme wins locally and nationally showcases the fantastic craftsmanship that has gone into creating New Zealand’s homes.
The Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards celebrate the very best in residential building. The competition, judged by a team of experts who visit each home at least once, is divided into two parts. The first is at regional level, with more than 340 properties from 223 building companies taking part this year. They are awarded a range of quality marks and the Regional Supreme Winners (for both new builds and renovations) are announced at local black tie events around the country from early July. All of these houses are featured on this website and in Regional magazines delivered direct to homes throughout the regions.
From those entries, up to 100 properties will reach Gold Reserve status and go through to a second round of judging for the national competition.
In November the National House of the Year Awards take place, and the National Supreme winners and House of the Year is announced. The winning homes are showcased in the National House of the Year magazine that is available from all good magazine retailers on December 7th.
It’s all very exciting and it was a photographing and editing frenzy to be done in 1 week, but I managed it with a little help from my friends:)
